Sr. User Interface Designer (UPA-CitrixSrUID)

Job Location: Santa Clara, CA

Description

This position is a driving force behind the inception, planning, development and delivery of the Citrix Receiver, a new Citrix product focused on simplifying usability and user interaction. The User Experience Designer works independently and as a driving force with the other product development/management teams to provide the best collective user experience for our customers.   

Additionally, the User Experience Designer will lead advanced designs projects, concepts new visions and creates vector elements for consistent product interaction. Works with corporate user experience team in developing new processes, system design tools and design guidelines.

Good working knowledge of User Centered design process for use in UX design projects. Design projects include; UCD with UX team, web images, screen layouts, new metaphor illustrations, brainstorming product designs, and software presentation on multiple platforms – leading and/or contributing.

Works with Sr. team to innovate - in developing new processes, design & production methods, and to deliver on planned lifecycle expectations. Helps team maintain highest quality presentation for all screens.
Works with product teams to identify usability issues and writes CPRs, CRs and helps teams resolve technical design issues.  

Primary Accountabilities
•Lead cross product group, cross function teams on Citrix Receiver and Citrix Plug-ins.
•Creates, concepts or manages all consistent designs for multiple platforms, operating systems and devices – often in multiple languages and considering internationalization
•Collaborate and brainstorm new UX concepts for world class customer experience -  Reviews UX concepts and final  implementation in products, drives highest quality through change process.
•Works with Eng product teams to understand project goals and UX delivery milestones.
•Facilitates and leads UX topics for internal project meetings.
•Help mentor other UX team members.  
•Expert in technical intricacies for new technologies (Vista, Mac, Linux, WinCE/Mobile) – teaches UX team on presentation variables and helps external teams fix defects in UIs.



Requirements
•Extensive knowledge of UX design principals and user focused design feedback.  
•Master artistic skills and ability to create new processes, design methods and projects
•Strong Ability to collaborate / lead with a team and provide guidance, direction and critique
•Excellent Knowledge of design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator/Flash, Icon creation software, and production methods) – Master knowledge of either PhotoShop or AI/Flash – working knowledge of both required. Icon design programs and advanced dynamic production a Plus
•Senior level -  organizational, project management, software workflow and time management skills required
Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience)
•Masters or Bachelors degree in User Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Animation, Media Studies, Web Systems Design and / or related fields
•Minimum 7 years experience with creative design
•Experience and expertise with current trends in interactive media, technical UX architecture, including accessibility/usability, multiple system design and cross-platform browsers

A major plus: Expert knowledge of Citrix icon design process, leads creation of new objects, elements, and visual metaphors (within Vector library methods). Uses knowledge of Citrix products and technical variables to apply to new software design needs.
